Friendship

Friendship is an in-depth, relaxed relationship!

It is an in-depth relationship combining trust, support, communication, loyalty, understanding, empathy, and intimacy. These are certainly aspects of life that all of us crave. Being able to trust and relax with your friend is a big part of friendship.

Remember when you were young and went with a friend to her grandma's for the week-end. It was fun but when you got home, home was wonderful. Your feeling was "I'm home. I can relax now." That's what a friendship should be. You go out into the world and do your best. You have your ups and downs, your problems and triumphs, your fun and tribulations. You charm and you perform. Then you come "home" to a friend. You can relax, put up your feet; you are relieved. If you still have to be charming and/or performing, it's not a relief. Friendship is a comfy situation like home. You get home, kick off your shoes, relax and sigh, "Ahh, home." But no one can form a friendship until he/she realizes that the basis of being friends is meeting the needs of the other person. One must be a friend to have one. Never forget that friends relate. Relating is the basis of friendship. Friends move talk from facts to emotions. In fact, you can tell how close your friendship is growing by how often you talk about feelings rather than facts or opinions.

Deepening friendships mean people can trust you with their secrets, both large and small. Good friends never break a confidence.

A friend is someone you want to touch. When you see best friends communicating, you will notice they "listen with their eyes," stand close together, and touch comfortably. No one is recommending that you indiscriminately touch and hug everyone in sight. Physical gushing is as much a turn-off as verbal gushing. It repels more people than it attracts. But once a friendship has grown to the point that both friends are comfortable with touching and feel they are being touched with sincerity, touching is a warm form of communication. Good friends want to touch. Good friends touch comfortably. A friends' touch is comforting. Friendships are a building process. You and your friend gradually share interests, feelings, and goals. Much of this is done by being together physically. Your physical presence shows your friend that you care about him. It affirms that he is important to you.

Friends, now and forever we shall be..cheers for our friendship..

Jobs: More March Sadness

The U.S. economy lost 663,000 jobs on the month and the unemployment rate hit a 25-year high of 8.5%

The rapid pace of U.S. job losses continued in March, according to a Labor Dept. report released Apr. 3, though the monthly decline was not as bad as many on Wall Street had feared. Nonfarm payrolls declined 663,000 in March, slightly higher than economists' median forecast of a 650,000 decline. The unemployment rate rose to to a 25-year high of 8.5% from 8.1% the month before, about as expected. "While the data indicates the job weakness continues, the report failed to realize the worst fears of a greater than 700,000 drop in jobs," said Standard & Poor's senior economist Beth Ann Bovino. While February's 651,000 decline was not revised, January was revised down to -741,000 (from -655,000 previously), the second largest slide on record. Job losses averaged 685,000 in the first quarter. Looking more closely at the March report, average hourly earnings rose 0.2%. Average weekly hours worked dipped to 33.2 from 33.3. The goods-producing sector lost a total of 305,000 jobs, with a 161,000 decline in manufacturing, and a 126,000 drop in construction. Business services lost 133,000 jobs.

Thousands of UK jobs lost at Aviva and Bombardier

More than 2,500 British jobs were lost on Thursday at just two companies as insurance giant Norwich Union and aircraft manufacturer Bombardier unveiled huge redundancy programmes.

The number of UK jobs cut could be even higher after the world's second-largest reinsurer, Swiss Re, also said it would cut 10pc of its 11,560 global workforce over the next 12 months. It did not specify where the cuts would come, but implied that some global offices would close as it "streamlined" its worldwide office network. Norwich Union, which is being rebranded after parent company Aviva in a multi-million pound advertising campaign, announced the biggest job cuts in the UK. It will slash 1,100 permanent roles in its life operations by the end of this year, largely in its business change and IT departments. An additional 590 contract positions will be ended over the next few months. The worst hit areas are York, Norwich, Sheffield and Eastleigh.

Over 26,000 jobs lost in Malaysia

Malaysian Employers Federation executive director Shamsuddin Bardan told Bernama he expected further job losses in the coming weeks. He said a 16.2 billion dollar stimulus package unveiled earlier this month had not provided immediate incentive for companies to retain their workers. The government has slashed its work permit approvals for foreign workers by almost 70 percent so far this year and cancelled work visas for 55,000 Bangladeshi workers after unions said the situation for Malaysians was bleak enough. In January, the government also banned the hiring of new foreigners in the manufacturing and services sectors after a report forecast 45,000 Malaysians would lose their jobs in the next few months. Malaysia is one of Asia's largest importers of labour and has an estimated 2.2 million foreign workers, who are the mainstay of the plantation and manufacturing sectors. However, the government has become concerned about the ramifications of having such a large migrant workforce and periodically tries to reduce it.

Pfizer halts drug trial

Washington- Pfizer Inc. stopped a late stage clinical trial studying the drug Sutent as a treatment for advanced breast cancer. The New York based company said Thursday it ended the Phase III trial because Sutent didn’t work better for patients than the chemotherapy drug capecitabine, sold under the brand name Xeloda by Roche Holding Ltd. Pfizer said five other studies looking at Sutent in advanced breast cancer are continuing. Sutent is approved to treat kidney cancer and a type of gastrointestinal cancer. The drug had $847 million in sales last year. It attacks a protein involved with tumor growth and blood vessels that help tumors grow, unlike chemotherapy drugs, which kill both cancer cells and healthy cells.

Najib sworn in as Malaysia's sixth Prime Minister

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak was sworn in as Malaysia’s sixth prime minister Friday, taking over from Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi who stepped down after leading the country for over five years. Najib 55, took his oath of office before Yang di Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin at Istana Negara. Dressed in a black baju Melayu complete with sampin, Najib arrived at the palace, accompanied by his wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor. Together they entered the Balairong Seri at 10am, followed by Abdullah and his wife, Datin Seri Jeanne Abdullah. A total of 319 guests, including former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and his wife, Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali, attended the historic event. The ceremony, steeped in tradition, began when Tuanku Mizan and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Zahirah entered the throne room at 10.05am and the national anthem was played by the Malaysian Armed Forces band. After taking his oaths of office, loyalty and confidentiality, Najib signed the four instruments of appointment, followed by the reading of the doa selamat. The instruments of appointment were then signed by Court of Appeal President Tan Sri Alauddin Mohd Sheriff as witness and handed over to Chief Secretary to the Government, Tan Sri Mohd Sidek Hassan. At the same ceremony, Abdullah was conferred the nation’s highest award, the Seri Maharaja Mangku Negara (SMN), while Jeanne received the Seri Setia Mahkota (SSM) by Tuanku Mizan. Both awards carry the title Tun.

*Let us hope that Malaysia will be a better country

It's six years since Leslie Cheung's tragic death and his fans have shown they have not gotten over the April 1 loss after all this time. Malaysian PM resigns in favour of deputy

Malaysia's king Thursday accepted the resignation of Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi after six years in office, clearing the way for a smooth transfer of power to deputy Najib Razak. Abdullah and then Najib met King Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin for successive audiences at the palace to seal the long-planned transition. "PM Abdullah offered his resignation to the king. The king is understood to have accepted it," a senior official told AFP on condition of anonymity. Government officials Wednesday said the king had agreed that Najib could be sworn in as prime minister at 0200 GMT Friday. Najib was last Thursday officially declared president of the United Malays National Organisation party, effectively smothing his path to the premiership because of its dominance of the political scene. He said he would reveal details Friday of the direction he wanted to take Malaysia amid economic crisis and political uncertainty, with the core of his roadmap being a programme aimed at uniting the multi-racial nation. "I think this new thrust will ensure there will be a fairer distribution of government allocations and assistance to all communities," he said Wednesday. Analysts say he faces an enormous challenge to rejuvenate his UMNO party, which has floundered since disastrous election results last year, and cushion the country from the worst effects of the global meltdown. Malaysia, Southeast Asia's third largest economy, has been hit by slumping exports and manufacturing, with more than 26,000 people losing their jobs so far this year.

Loneliness

You don't want to be alone, you fear of living your life by yourself with no one to love, and more specifically, with no one to love you back. You desperately seek affection and want nothing more but to find someone.

*Indeed loneliness may kills me. I can't live alone. We live this life to share our happiness, sorrows with people we love, we care, we cherish..
*I am not desperate tho..
*Just a quiz from facebook..

**********************************************************************************
Allow me to continue again sharing with all of you the book I am reading at the moment. Battlefield of the mind by Joyce Meyer.

Quite often people who cannot seem to concentrate think they likely are mentally deficient. However, an inability to concentrate can be the results of years of letting the mind do whatever it wants to do, whenever it wants to do it. A lack of concentration can also be a symptom of a vitamin. Certain B vitamins enhance concentration; therefore, if you have inability to concentrate, ask yourself if you are eating and are nutritionally sound.

Wandering mind, from my experiences in class, although physically I am in that class, but my mind were somewhere else, till a point where my movement shows that my mind is in state of wandering. Yesterday morning, during Marketing Research class, I almost fall down from my chair. Then I think back what I was thinking, my mind thinks that I am falling into pit, pit just like what we saw on the movie 300. My thoughts about falling into the pit were so strong it controls my body. But this incident only happens during 8am morning class.

***********************************************************

Yesterday afternoon, when I was taking a nap, I dreamt. I suddenly dreamt about my ex. We went shopping together; weird thing about this dream is that she left me in the shopping center without saying a word to me, just walked away. And I did not even chase after her, I left as well. I realize I did not even think about her at that very moment I went off.

*may be my words very blurry, but all I know, at that very moment, she is out from my life completely.

Eventhough the last break up by far most hurtful, I believe this dream shown to me, by God grace, I able to overcome those hurts completely. God is merciful, indeed it is very unfair to your current partner if you still think about your past, and your heart is not fully with your current partner, that’s what I believe. For now, I believe I will love my partner with all my heart, for sure..

  • My interpretation about this dream, I finally, totally, absolutely over her.
  • By grace of God, I am healed.

*somebody can explain to me about my dream..

GOD BLESS..

*I miss playing badminton..

*I miss her(not my ex)

Terror Attacks

Today News:

1) The leader of Pakistani Taliban threatened Tuesday to carry out a terror attack on US capital, and said his forces were behind an assault on police academy in Eastern Pakistan. Baitullah Mehsud said loyal fighters behind him raided the police academy on the outskirts of Lahore on Monday to avenge continuing missile strikes against Islamic militants based along the border with Afghanistan, a region largely controlled by the Taliban and Al- Qaeda. The attack on the police academy left 12 people dead ‘was in retaliation for the ongoing drone attacks in the tribal areas. There will be more such attacks’. He said by telephone from an undisclosed location with a handful of Pakistani reporters, is based in the south Waziristan region, on the Afghan border. US officials who issues a $5 million bounty for Mr. Meshud in March have said they believe the leader of the Pakistan Taliban has ties to al- Qaeda and has been involved in major attacks in Pakistan for several years.

2) Budget airline Air Asia Bhd. says it is pushing Malaysia state owned airport operator to introduce lower landing fees and other costs at a planned new terminal in Kuala Lumpur that would serve as its new international hub, Air Asia’s chief executive Tony Fernandes said on Tuesday. Securing a new, cheap to use terminal is a central plank in the company long term expansion plans, which includes new long haul flights from Kuala Lumpur to London and possibly New York, Los Angeles and Hawaii. Lower fees at new facility could also help Malaysia emerge as major international air hub in the region at a time when more passengers switching to lower cost airlines, Mr. Tony told the Wall Street Journal in an interview.

3) Idan Ravin, a soft spoken, intensely private 38-yrs old former lawyer from New York with no formal basketball training or coaching experience has achieve an unlikely distinction. He is one of the NBA-s most sought after personal trainers. Denver Nuggets forward Camelo Anthony flies Mr. Ravin to Denver several times a season to help him with his ball handling. Star New Orleans Hornets point guard Chris Paul turns to him in the summer to sharpen his footwork and Washington Wizards guard Gilbert Arenas, who scored 15 points Saturday in his first game back from a knee injury, worked with Mr. Ravin throughout his rehabilitation.

* Alex Eng, you should invite Mr. Ravin over to our college and train college basketball team.
