1) The leader of Pakistani Taliban threatened Tuesday to carry out a terror attack on US capital, and said his forces were behind an assault on police academy in Eastern Pakistan. Baitullah Mehsud said loyal fighters behind him raided the police academy on the outskirts of Lahore on Monday to avenge continuing missile strikes against Islamic militants based along the border with Afghanistan, a region largely controlled by the Taliban and Al- Qaeda. The attack on the police academy left 12 people dead ‘was in retaliation for the ongoing drone attacks in the tribal areas. There will be more such attacks’. He said by telephone from an undisclosed location with a handful of Pakistani reporters, is based in the south Waziristan region, on the Afghan border. US officials who issues a $5 million bounty for Mr. Meshud in March have said they believe the leader of the Pakistan Taliban has ties to al- Qaeda and has been involved in major attacks in Pakistan for several years.

2) Budget airline Air Asia Bhd. says it is pushing Malaysia state owned airport operator to introduce lower landing fees and other costs at a planned new terminal in Kuala Lumpur that would serve as its new international hub, Air Asia’s chief executive Tony Fernandes said on Tuesday. Securing a new, cheap to use terminal is a central plank in the company long term expansion plans, which includes new long haul flights from Kuala Lumpur to London and possibly New York, Los Angeles and Hawaii. Lower fees at new facility could also help Malaysia emerge as major international air hub in the region at a time when more passengers switching to lower cost airlines, Mr. Tony told the Wall Street Journal in an interview.

3) Idan Ravin, a soft spoken, intensely private 38-yrs old former lawyer from New York with no formal basketball training or coaching experience has achieve an unlikely distinction. He is one of the NBA-s most sought after personal trainers. Denver Nuggets forward Camelo Anthony flies Mr. Ravin to Denver several times a season to help him with his ball handling. Star New Orleans Hornets point guard Chris Paul turns to him in the summer to sharpen his footwork and Washington Wizards guard Gilbert Arenas, who scored 15 points Saturday in his first game back from a knee injury, worked with Mr. Ravin throughout his rehabilitation.
* Alex Eng, you should invite Mr. Ravin over to our college and train college basketball team.
